Jake Smith Catching Instructor

Jake grew up in Greensboro and attended Southern Guilford HS where he was The Greensboro News and Record 2002 Player of the Year. He got a scholarship to East Carolina University. In 2003 he was a Freshman All-American. This past year, Jake earned a CUSA All-Conference selection as well as an ALL-American. His biggest achievement was receiving THE JOHNNY BENCH AWARD as the nation's top college catcher! He was a 21st round selection for The Oakland A's this past June draft. Jake is an AWESOME addition to the GBC coaching staff as he will specialize in defensive aspects for catchers.
